Buenos Aires to Iguasu Falls   ---   18 Jan 2006
We rose early for the 8:00am flight to Iguasu Falls, on the Argentine-Brazilian border  about 800
miles (1300km) north of Buenos Aires.  Upon landing we were taken on a half hour bus ride to the
Argentine national park at the falls, and then by rail and a long catwalk to an overlook with a thrilling
close look at "Devil's Gorge Falls" --- wide, high, and beautiful.

Then we were bussed over the Iguasu River to the Brazilian side, went through immigration
formalities, and continued to the Brazilian national park, where we checked into the "Iguasu Falls
Hotel".   This hotel, located within the park, offered excellent views of much of the falls but our room
would have benefited from newer furnishings.
The Iguasu Falls are truly a spectacular natural wonder.  They consist of a series of a dozen or more
separate major falls, each of which would be a major attraction in itself.   To see them is a unique
experience.
