The tour generally was an enjoyable experience. It was fun to meet a group of interesting fellow-travelers from different parts of our country and sharing travel experiences with them. It was an easy trip with transportation, accommodations, and entertainment arranged for us by SmarTours.
We especially enjoyed seeing natural wonders such as the beautiful mountains and lakes while we crossed the Andes from Chile into Argentina; the water gushing over the many falls at Iguasu; the dazzling views of Rio from Corcovado; exploring fascinating cities like Buenos Aires and Rio.
SmarTours provides excellent value. Prices are low for what you get. We also like that!
What's not to like? Our tour escort did not help make the tour more interesting. We also did not like being forced repeatedly to visit souvenir shops in which we had no interest; those shop visits should be optional.
The complaints above are minor compared to our enjoyment on the tour. We liked the tour and are glad we went.
After the end of the Chile-Argentina-Brazil tour described and illustrated in the preceding pages, Virginia and I remained on our own in Southeastern Brazil for an additional two weeks; there we visited several beaches and small colonial towns a few hundred miles from Rio de Janeiro, If that sounds interesting to you we suggest you go there directly by clicking on "Southeastern Brazil",
