Virginia and I have traveled abroad extensively for many years. During those trips I
generally kept daily notes while Virginia took photos of the people and places visited.
About five years ago we decided to combine my notes with her photos to create a personal
website as a souvenir of our trips. We believed also that Our Travel Journals website
would be of interest to our family and friends, as well as some of the people we meet on our
trips. It also occurred to us also that such a website could be useful to persons of going on
trips similar to ours.
We also were inspired by our son John's personal website, www.outdoorplace.org ,
featuring his two-year service as a Peace Corps volunteer service in the South Pacific, his
beekeeping hobby, his kayak-building experiences, and his volunteer development work in
the Ukraine, Moldova, Romania, etc.
