Rajasthan Trip Comments
Rajasthan is a wonderfully exotic Indian state with fairyland palaces and forts, magnificent
temples and shrines, beautiful lakes and mountains, empty deserts, teeming cities, colorful
camels, elephants and holy cows, turbans and saris, motorickshas and cyclerickshas.  It was
wonderful to have so many opportunities to meet many extremely hospitable Indians and
interesting fellow travelers.  By adapting to local conditions our expenses in India were very
low compared to what they are when traveling in most other parts of the world.   Amazing
sights and wonderful experiences at bargain prices.

Not everything was always perfect.  During our journey we were often surrounded by
extreme poverty and occasionally had difficulty finding satisfactory hotels and restaurants;
we also were  often exposed  to crowds, noise, unpleasant odors unsanitary conditions, and
persistent hawkers and beggars.  However, the pleasures of this trip far outweighed the
unpleasant.

This is the end of the journal of our 2003 journey in Rajasthan,
